Roxanne Marie Castro, 67, a longtime resident of Springfield, MO, formerly of Elgin, IL., passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Roxanne was born on September 27, 1956, in Chicago, to Alexander and Shirley (Dolstedt) Sarley, Sr. She attended Fenton High School in Wood Dale, however, was a graduate of Maine East High School, class of 1974. In 1978, Roxanne welcomed her daughter Cristina (Crissy) who was her pride and joy. On October 2, 1999, she married the love of her life Roberto (Bob) A. Castro, the pair looked forward to celebrating their 25th year of marriage this year.
Roxanne worked at Willy Wonka in Itasca for over 15 years, where she worked in packaging as well as shipping and receiving before she moved to MO. She later worked for TTECH as an insurance agent until her retirement in 2023. Roxanne was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking with her daughter, especially around the holidays.
