He was named after his father's brother, Douglas, and his maternal grandfather, Richard. Born in Elgin on September 24, 1990, Doug was a graduate of Grayslake Central High School. He loved football and started playing at 6 years old. He not only loved the game, but he enjoyed being around the guys and the friendships he made throughout his school years. Doug will be remembered for his smile, his sense of humor, his willingness to help anyone, and his love of the outdoors. He loved his dog, Babe, and you'd say they were inseparable.
