Donald R. Fye, age 90, of Carpentersville passed away June 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Loving husband of 68 wonderful years to Eleanor (Salyan) Fye. Devoted father to Sharon (Matt) Schacht, Donna Munson, Joseph (Jeanette) Fye, and Lisa (Dean) Cavaletto. Beloved grandfather to Amanda (David), Allison (Brad), the late Tyler, Maggie (Tommy), Kendall, Benjamin (Nicole), Alexis (Jeremy), and Samantha. Cherished great grandfather to Olivia, Sofia, Leighton, Reese, Russell, Emeigh and Donnie. Dear brother to Ruth DiLeo, and the late Evelyn Baker. Fond brother-in-law to Barbara Montgomery, William Salyan, and the late Joseph Salyan Jr. Preceded in death by his Baby Girl Fye and his parents Ivan and Esther Fye. Loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don was a Navy veteran and had worked for United Airlines for 37 years. He became a resident of Carpentersville in 1967, and a parishioner of St. Monica's Church. He had a love for aviation and tinkering with things around
