SYLVIA LEIGH OBERG, age 82 of Woodstock, IL formerly of Dandridge, TN passed away Thursday evening, August 22, 2024, at the Dila Doyle Nursing Home, Seneca, SC. She retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department where she served as the accountant in the business office for many years. Following retirement, she and her husband Wayne moved to Dandridge, TN where they promptly got involved in community activities. They became members of the Dandridge First United Methodist Church, the Dandridge Senior Citizens where she enjoyed playing games with her friends and family and was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 3380 Ladies Auxillary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Oberg; her parents, Lawrence and Margaret (Scheel) Steinberg; siblings, George Steinberg, and Virginia McNatt and is survived by her children, Donald (Valarie) Suffern, Wendy (Clay) Hogue, Daniel (Lisa) Sufferin, Melanie (Lyle) Kelly and Richard (Kelly) Oberg; Grandkids, Jamie Stigall, Megan Ortiz, Courtn
