Richard "Rick" Lloyd Dunn Born: July 18, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA Died: March 7, 2025 in McHenry, IL Born July 18, 1943 in Pittsburgh PA, Rick grew up in Berea, Ohio and Oakmont, PA. He passed away March 7, 2025 in McHenry, IL. As a youth, Rick enjoyed building things with this brothers, played Coronet in the band, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Rick graduated from Shady Side Academy in Fox Chapel PA. From there he attended Iowa State University, graduating with a degree in technical journalism in 1966. Following graduation he married his college sweetheart, Pat. As a Navy ensign he reported aboard the USS Kingbird in Charleston SC. A transfer to Great Lakes Naval Training Center brought Rick, Pat and their infant son, Russ, to Illinois. After discharge from the Navy, Rick went to work for Technical Publishing in Barrington, IL. The couple, now a family of four with the birth of daughter Lee, moved to Crystal Lake in 1972. A third child, Ryan, made the family complete. As editor-
