Kaethe KoppKaethe Kopp of Lake in the Hills, IL, passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 82. She died with her beloved children Sonja and Walter, by her side.Kathy was born on December 13, 1942, in Franzfeld, Yugoslavia, the daughter of Fredrick and Elisabeth Hild. Kathy endured a difficult childhood. Her family had to escape the Yugoslavian village of Franzfeld when the war broke out and head to Germany. They immigrated to Beitigheim, Germany. Her family later immigrated to America in 1956. At the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Adam Kopp. They lived and worked together for almost 58 years. They settled in Chicago and later moved to Palatine to raise their two children, Sonja and Walt.Kathy and her husband, Adam founded a welding company in 1978, Kopp Welding Inc. in Elk Grove Village, IL. As her husband ran everything in the shop, Kathy put her bookkeeping skills to work. Through their handwork and dedication they had a thriving business. The company still exists t
